Ivo received an award from the Fire Brigades’ Association of Slovenia

On January 13, 2023 in Rogaška Slatina, the Šmarje pri Jelšah firefighters’ union hosted the 18th conference of fire brigade chiefs and presidents of firefighters’ unions from all over Slovenia. The two-day event took place in Grand Hotel Sava and as many as two hundred of the most accountable firefighters and other high-ranking guests gathered there.

The meeting began with welcoming speeches by Janko Cerkvenik, President of the Fire Brigades’ Association of Slovenia, Mr. Eriho Strašek, President of Šmarje pri Jelšah Firefighters’ Union, and Marjan Šarc, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia. The program was led by Janko Cerkvenik who emphasized that the purpose of the conference was to obtain all the information and knowledge to be even more successful and efficient in the future and to analyze the work of the past year.

At the Friday’s celebration, entrepreneur Ivo Boscarol, who received thanks for financial assistance to the Slovenian firefighters after the fire in the Karst in 2022, addressed and encouraged the assembled guests.

In his speech of thanks, Ivo said: “I am honored to receive recognition from the head firefighting organization of our country, i.e. the Fire Brigades’ Association of Slovenia, as a thank you for the donation. But I think it should be the other way around. I should thank the firemen because they preserved all lives on the Karst, a large part of the flora and fauna, and because of their inhuman efforts in the hellish conditions, not a single house burned down. All Slovenians thank you very much.”
